Home Sellers: You put your property on the market so potential buyers can see this?
You did your due diligence when selecting the best listing agent for your house.
You listened and discussed the perfect pricing strategy and decided on your listing price.
You listened to the home stager on what to do so your property will be ready for the market. You did most of the suggestions.
You prepared yourself to be out of your house for all the viewings.
So why is your house not selling?
Could it be :
the dirty clothes laying on the bedroom floor?
the burnt out light bulb in the front entry?
the trash you forgot to take out?
the bathroom sink?
your rottweiler that greets everyone who comes in the front door?
that you left that out for the world to see? Yes you left that out!
Or could it be the nude oil of your wife hanging above the fireplace? (The home stager and agent suggested removing that but you know they are wrong and most people would like your style).
Not leaving your house show ready is an unspoken invitation for an unexpected showing.
Like when your husband runs to get the newspaper in his boxers or You take the kids to school in your pajamas. Thinking no one will see but of course everyone does.
You have your daily to-do-list that your home stager created for you. You have it tacked to the back side of a kitchen door. It takes 5 minutes to complete in the mornings. Use it then you will know your house is Ready to Sell!

I wishe every seller would listen the professionals. Nice post!
I don't see how a house can be staged with a Rottweiler hanging around. .good post
Linda, I wish they would too. The professionals can save the home seller stress, time and money! Thanks
Fernando, You are correct. I guess the same way a house can't be viewed with the rottweiler. I am sure the viewers will remember the visit but not remember the house! thanks
People just don't see there own "stuff." It's just like George Carlin used to say in one of his bits. Your stuff is stuff but other people's stuff is S**t. They would see this mess if they walked into it at someone elses home but they just don't see it in their own. Maybe we should take them on a tour of some other messy house and let them experience first hand what people see when they walk into theirs.
Keep the dog away...You can hang his photo on the wall.
Leslie, Sometimes I have clients that I do show other properties or MLS photos to show issues similar to their properties. I have to implement tact when they say "How could someone show their house like that?" lol As you said other people's stuff...Thanks for your comment. PS. Great name!
Joshua, Great Advice! Take care of 2 issues :.) Thanks
Leslie why don't you tell us what you really think...:~) I like your style no sugar just tell em like it is. Now do you think they will listen?
James, As you can tell , I do say the facts. My clients hire me to professionally and tactfully give them the truth for their particular properties. So their properties will present itself positively to potential buyers. hummm some listen and continue to daydream about the dreamy pre-2007 real estate market. Thanks James. PS Can't wait to see the word for the day
